5 MINUTES OF FAME

5 MINUTES OF FAME, a series that is part of MOCA by Moonlight programming, allows local artists to explain how and why they create their art.

Guess what? I am presenting my work on April 14, 2001.

I feel I have still a millions things to do and my stage fright is creeping up with each day passing. I get nervous just thinking I will do a presentation (yes actual talking) about my work in front of a group of people.

Yes, This painting by Edvard Munch really captures my mood : WHOAAAA!

Wow you are brave! I remember when I was at Uni I had to do a talk in the Tate Gallery, London about a specific painting I liked and I got stage fright!

Good luck. :)

LOL - I can't wait for the Q & A part when I ask what you did to get kicked out of the art academy in Holland. It's going to be fun!! :)~

HOW FABULOUS!!! Congratulations, my dear...And what fun!

Here is a suggestion, my dear: Pretend you are talking to one good friend, like Ily---and nobody else. It will reduce your Stage Fright and help you to just Be Yourself! Stage Fright is all about "focus". And if you focus on telling Ily all about this, I think you will do GREAT!

OHHHH! I just read what Ily said....Pretend you are talking to your dear Husband! Comfort level...Focus. You Will Be Terrific!

Naomi, thank you so much for your words. I am happy you understand that Ily might not be the right person to practice within my comfort zone. LOL
She is however a good friend and a great fan.

I had to lead a meeting at work the other day and someone sent me a private message (she knew it freaked me out to talk to people) and told me to picture them all naked. I did. It helped.

Chickie, thanks for the advice. It might for me as well.

Mi'ja, most of the time when you and I picture someone naked...THEY ARE! lol ;)

You'll do great!! :)

I am always scared when I speak in public. What is funny is that someone (usually a stranger) always comes up to me and afterward and tells me how I said everything right and I'll be damned if I can recall what I said!!!!

You will be fine. A perfect cop-out if you wish is to say little and tell them that your work speak for you. Or is that too easy?

Holland said...

Ily: LOL I think I prefer them naked to begin with... just to draw and to to speak.

Kay: Cannot cop-out...I tried but The Hitman (my partner) will not allow me...lol
